Winburn Middle School turned in another dominating performance in the 11^th annual Kentucky Colonels Sixth-Grade Academic Showcase, besting six others to win the overall competition and the quick-recall segment of its local section.

The Dec. 4 showcase also included written assessments in several areas. Here are the top individual results from Fayette County Public Schools:

• Language arts: 1^st Annie Griffith, Winburn; 3^rd Josh Cagle, Edythe J. Hayes Middle School
• Mathematics: Tied for 1^st  Ronit Kar, Thirushan Wignakumar and Ben Xie, all of Winburn
• Science: 1^st Thirushan Wignakumar, 2^nd Sameer Ahmed, 3^rd Vicki Wong, all of Winburn
• Social studies: 1^st Amit Lohe, Hayes; 2^nd Ben Xie, Winburn; 3^rd Jodi Kirkner, Winburn
• Arts and humanities: 1^st Jodi Kirkner, Winburn; 3^rd Vicki Wong, Winburn
• Composition: 1^st Kathryn Hunt, Lexington Traditional Magnet School
