The Prichard Committee for Academic Excellence is offering a Commonwealth Institute for Parent Leadership focused on science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).
The institute, which will run Aug. 26-27, Sept. 23-24 and Oct. 28-29 in Louisville, will provide training and support for parents who want to advocate for improved science and math education in their schools. The cost of the program – instruction, supplies, meals and lodging – will be covered by a grant from the James Graham Brown Foundation.
Applications are now being accepted across the state. The class size is limited to 30, and participants must commit to attend all six sessions. The application deadline is April 15. To apply, visit www.cipl.org. For more information, call Carol Edelen at (502) 454-7445.
The Commonwealth Institute for Parent Leadership is an arm of the Prichard Committee, a nonprofit citizens’ organization that works to improve education for all Kentuckians.
