Fayette County Public Schools produced three winners in the 2011 State Individual Scholastic Chess Championships.

Brian She of Meadowthorpe Elementary captured the K-3 primary title with a perfect score of 5.0 points, and Taylor Bagley and Carson Crovo of SCAPA Bluegrass were among six co-champions in the K-8 middle school division with scores of 4.0 points.

In the K-1 novice section, Evan Clark of Meadowthorpe finished in an eight-way tie for fourth place. And in K-8 competition, SCAPA’s Nathan Rayens and David Seder were part of a six-way tie for seventh place.

The state contest, sponsored by the Kentucky Chess Association, was March 19-20 in Bowling Green.
