FCPS students turned in a strong showing in the 26th annual Bluegrass Regional High School Art Exhibition. Ariel Sniegowski of Paul Laurence Dunbar High School took home the prize for “Best of Show Overall.”

More than a dozen high schools from nine counties participated in the regional contest, sponsored by the Kentucky Art Education Association. Hosted by Eastern Kentucky University’s Department of Art & Design, this exhibition features the area’s most creative young artists in grades 9-12. The winning artwork is on display through March 24 in the Giles Gallery on EKU’s Richmond campus.

In the visual art categories, 11 top-scoring pieces from FCPS will advance to the state competition April 17 in Northern Kentucky.
