Three weather make-up dates set

Mid-December’s harsh weather not only gave Fayette County students a jump start on winter break. It also means they will have to make up three instructional days missed because of snowy and icy conditions.
Feb. 11, March 4 and May 27 will now be regular school days to make up for the December 13, 16 and 17 cancellations.
The district’s original academic calendar called for students to be off on those Fridays but designated them as “possible weather make-up days.” Students and staff are now expected to be in school on Feb. 11, March 4 and May 27. The revised schedule also moves the last day of school for students from May 26 to May 27.
Additional possible weather make-up days include May 31, June 1-3 and June 6-10.
Middle and high school students whose final exams were interrupted by the school closings will now complete their semesters when school resumes in January. The middle school grading period will be extended by three days, and the high school semester by four days. Check the schools’ websites for more details.
The suggested date for most middle school report cards will now be Jan. 11, and high school report cards should be out Jan. 12.
