Courtney Taggart and Taryn Bunch represented Fayette County Public Schools well in the national SkillsUSA competition this summer, placing third in the Sustainability Solutions category.

The SkillsUSA Championships featured 96 hands-on skill and leadership contests. Kentucky had only two other medalists besides Courtney and Taryn, who competed for Eastside Technical Center.

SkillsUSA returned to Kansas City, Mo., June 21-25 for its annual National Leadership and Skills Conference, a showcase of career and technical education students. More than 14,000 students, teachers, education leaders, and representatives from more than 1,100 national corporations, trade associations, businesses and labor unions attended.
