Two juniors in Fayette County Public Schools have recorded perfect scores on the ACT college entrance exam this spring. Nationally, roughly 1/10 of 1 percent of test-takers achieves that feat.

Michael Druggan of Tates Creek High School and Jay Li of Paul Laurence Dunbar High School had a composite 36 on the ACT, which consists of tests in English, mathematics, reading and science. Each test is scored on a scale of 1-36, and the student’s composite score is the average of the four tests.  

In addition, Dunbar’s Victor Macrinici tallied a perfect 1,600 on the math and verbal sections of the SAT Reasoning Test. The SAT contains 800-point sections in math, critical reading and writing, with a maximum total score of 2400.
