Fayette County Public Schools has named three new school directors.

Kelley Crain, who was superintendent in Fleming County for seven years, is now director of middle schools. She replaces Michael Ernst, who resigned June 1.

“The experience, wisdom and dedication to the education of all students that Kelley brings with her will contribute on our path to high student achievement for all students,” Superintendent Stu Silberman said.

Loraye Jones, principal at Dixie, and Ketsy Fields, principal at Yates, will soon transition into their new roles as elementary school directors.

“Ketsy and Loraye are successful and highly respected principals in our district,” Silberman said. “I feel confident our elementary schools will continue to move forward under their direction.”

They replace Carmen Coleman, who left to become superintendent of the Danville Independent Schools, and Fabio Zuluaga, who left to be an area superintendent in Fairfax County Public Schools in Virginia.

Julie Hawkins remains as the third elementary director for FCPS. Mike McKenzie is the high school director.
