Excitement abounds in Cheer & Dance Showcase

Students put their best foot forward in the annual Fayette County Middle School Cheer and Dance Showcase, which Bryan Station High School hosted Jan. 23.
Edythe J. Hayes Middle School won Grand Champion Cheer honors, and the Spirit Award went to Tates Creek Middle School. On the dance side, Morton Jazz was the Grand Champion, and Leestown Middle earned the Spirit Award.
In addition, more than 350 students were recognized for academic achievement (3.0-4.0 GPA).

Sideline/timeout: 1st - Bryan Station Middle School, coached by Judy Smith and Kathryn Raitiere; 2nd - Tates Creek Middle, coached by Tesha Livingston; 3rd - Morton’s “B” Squad, coached by Carla Trisko and Britney Miller.
Level 3: 1st - Beaumont, coached by Amanda King; 2nd - Jessie Clark, coached by Katie Harper; 3rd - Lexington Traditional Magnet School, coached by Marilee Applegate, Megan Applegate and Bretta Hotchula.
Level 5: 1st - Edythe J. Hayes, coached by Deedra Murphy/Ashlee Hyde; 2nd - Morton “A” Team, coached by Carla Trisko and Britney Miller.
