The Lexington-Fayette County Health Department will return to three FCPS sites to provide free H1N1 vaccinations to students ages 9 and younger who need their second dose.
Rather than host clinics in every school, as in January, the health department looked at the schools that had the most students in need of a second dose, and then picked sites that were conveniently located on each side of Fayette County.
Students do not have to attend these schools in order to receive a free vaccination. The free clinics will be held at the following dates and locations:
- 2:45 to 6 p.m. March 9 at Tates Creek Elementary, 1113 Centre Parkway
-
3:30 to 6 p.m. March 11 at Cardinal Valley Elementary, 218 Mandalay Road
-
3:30 to 6 p.m. March 12 at Harrison Elementary, 161 Bruce St.
The clinics will begin after each school’s regular dismissal time and will last until 6 p.m. Parents must accompany their children at the clinics.
Any parent or child who has not yet received the first dose of the H1N1 vaccine can also get it at these free clinics. The vaccine is also available at:
- Public Health Clinic North, 805A Newtown Circle. Clinic hours are 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Thursday; 8 a.m.-7 p.m. Tuesday; and 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Friday.
- Public Health Clinic South, 2433 Regency Road. Clinic hours are 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Thursday; 8 a.m.-7 p.m. Wednesday; and 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Friday.
