Forty students from Fayette County Public Schools are among this summer’s class in the Governor’s School for the Arts.

This program is designed for rising juniors and seniors who are outstanding dancers, actors, instrumental and vocal musicians, creative writers, visual artists or budding architects. They will spend June 20 through July 10 at Transylvania University immersed in seminars, workshops, field trips and more.

Participants will receive full tuition, room and board, the chance to learn in a supportive community of distinguished master-teachers and an opportunity to audition for scholarships at top colleges and universities. They also will present a Student Performance Festival.
