Nearly 400 high school juniors across the state, including 18 from Fayette County Public Schools, have been awarded $1,000 college scholarships in the “Drive the Dream” program, sponsored by Kentucky GEAR UP.

GEAR UP – Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs – is a federally funded program that encourages middle and high school students to stay in school, study hard and take the courses they need to prepare for college.

The Kentucky Higher Education Assistance Authority provided the scholarships, which the students will receive when they enroll in college. Congratulations to these Fayette County recipients.
