Neighborhoods across Lexington will host Back-to-School Rallies on Saturday Aug. 8. 

Students and their families are invited to come out to one of the nearly 20 sites for food, fun and free school supplies. 

“We feel it’s important for all children to be prepared for school and have the necessary supplies for the first day of school,” said Catherine Warner, project manager for children and youth at LexLinc, which organizes the annual rallies and lines up sponsors. 

FCPS will distribute brochures and resources for families at all the rally sites. And Superintendent Stu Silberman will speak at 11 a.m. at Douglass Park, 726 Georgetown St.
