Children’s Health magazine this fall listed Lexington at No. 6 on its list of 100 Best Places to Raise a Family, primarily because of high marks under education and child nutrition.

The magazine analyzed cities around the country and researched about three dozen factors that parents consider to be vitally important, including crime and safety, economics, housing, cultural attractions and health.

The top 10 cities:

1.  Burlington, Vt.

2.  Madison, Wis.

3.  Fargo, N.D.

4.  Lincoln, Neb.

5.  Fremont, Calif.

6.  Lexington, Ky.

7.  Honolulu, Hawaii

8.  Cheyenne, Wyo.

9.  Omaha, Neb.

10. Yonkers, N.Y.
