All-State groups pick dozens of FCPS musicians

FCPS is brimming with musical talent! Consider the dozens of students selected for All-State Orchestra and the State Solo and Ensemble groups. Lafayette High School, for instance, boasts 27 kids in the orchestra – the most in Kentucky this year!
The orchestra will perform Feb. 7 during the Kentucky Music Educators Association’s professional development conference in Louisville. The solo and ensemble festival is in May; students who earned a “distinguished” rating and a recommendation from the judge in their district ensemble advance to state and play in the festival.
