Sign language classes available this fall

Fayette County Public Schools is offering free sign language classes for beginners, including parents and other interested community members. Fayette County teachers Michelle Gaines and Nicole Dolan will lead the course.

The 10-session class will meet in the It’s About Kids Support Services annex library, 701 E. Main St., from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on these Thursdays: Oct. 2, 9, 23, 30; Nov.  6, 13, 20; Dec. 4, 11, 18.

The class will be limited to the first 30 people who register. Note: You must register for all 10 classes. For more information, contact Monica Johnson at (859) 381-4182 or monica.johnson@fayette.kyschools.us.

Teachers Carlin Robbins and Debra Miller also will offer free sign language classes for FCPS employees. These sessions will meet from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Mondays: Oct. 6, 13, 20, 27; Nov. 3, 10, 17, 24; Dec. 1, 8.
