Danielle Mink, who teaches biology at Tates Creek High School, has been selected by the Kentucky Science Teachers Association as the 2008 High School Science Teacher of the Year.
“Ultimately my goal is to help educate my students in the ways of the world – how to use the information around them to make better decisions,” she said.
Mink will be honored at the KSTA’s annual conference, set for Nov. 7 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel. She will receive a plaque and a one-year membership to the association.
Mink, who is in her sixth year at Tates Creek, also taught two years at Boyle County High School. She earned her bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Cincinnati and her master’s in secondary science education from the University of Kentucky.
She and her husband have one daughter and a son on the way.
