Just a reminder that the following changes have been made to the academic calendar as a result of winter-weather school closures:

Day missed / Make-up date

• Jan. 16 / March 6
• Jan. 26 / May 19
• Jan. 27 / May 29
• Jan. 28 / June 1
• Jan. 29 / June 2
• Jan. 30 / June 3
• Feb. 4 / June 4

That leaves three remaining make-up days in the calendar, if needed: June 5, June 8 and June 9. Any days beyond that would have to be approved by the Fayette County Board of Education.

Families with students graduating this spring should be aware that state law prohibits graduation ceremonies prior to the last day of the academic school year. Since the last day of school remains in question until the weather warms up, high school graduation ceremony dates and times will  not be scheduled until all the winter make-up dates are settled.
