The Lafayette Madrigal Singers gave an outstanding performance and garnered a first-place win in the fifth annual Margaret Comstock Chamber Choir Competition. This was the third consecutive win and the fourth top finish by the Lafayette group.
The Madrigals faced off Feb. 20 against six other choirs from across Kentucky. This competition demanded high-quality repertoire and outstanding performance from ensembles.
Choirs competed in two rounds for a panel of judges and a clinician. After the first performance, the groups were coached by Kent Hatteberg of the University of Louisville, which hosted the event. The field then was narrowed to three choirs, which competed in a second round for final placements.
