FCPS kids excel in state’s World Language Festival

Fayette County schools were well-represented at the 2009 statewide World Language Festival, sponsored by the Kentucky World Language Association. More than 1,500 students from across Kentucky participated May 16 at the University of Kentucky.
School results:
- Chinese (middle schools): 1st Crawford; 2nd LTMS
- French (high schools): 2nd Lafayette; 3rd Paul Laurence Dunbar
- Latin (high schools): 3rd Henry Clay
- Japanese (middle schools): 1st Jessie Clark
- Spanish (high schools): 2nd Bryan Station
- Spanish (middle schools): 3rd Bryan Station
The KWLA will host an awards ceremony Sept. 19 to recognize first-place winners in the high school language proficiency assessments.
