World Language Festival is set for March 13

The Fayette County Public Schools Regional World Language Festival will take place on Thursday, March 13 from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Bryan Station High School in Lexington.

The festival is first and foremost a showcase for student achievement in the area of world language education. The event highlights the communicative and cultural competencies our students and is aligned with state and national standards. All competitions reflect best practices in world language education and include communicative and cultural components.

First, second, and third place winners will represent FCPS at the State World Language Festival on May 10th at the University of Kentucky.

Events include the following:

  • Language Proficiency Assessments (MS and HS students)
  • Cultural Proficiency Assessments (MS and HS students)
  • World Language Mini- Lessons
  • Conversation Tables
  • Real- Life Connections (Displays and presentations)
  • Technology (Computer Labs)
  • General Session – Stu Silberman/ Dr. David Bettez
  • Crafts, plays, and dance lessons
