The Tates Creek Middle School band brought home the Best Overall Performance trophy from the Music in the Parks regional competition in Kings Island, Ohio.
Tates Creek took the Best in Class trophy for middle school concert bands and notched an overall score of 97.2 out of 100 possible points -- the highest score regardless of class.
“They did a fantastic job and represented themselves, their families and our school wonderfully,” band director Gay Begley said. “We are very proud of them.”
The Music in the Parks competition included 44 elementary, middle and high school bands, choirs and orchestras from Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, Tennessee and Georgia.
