Ninth Grade Improvement Awards go to students who have displayed hard work, perseverance and significant progress.
This year’s group of teens, who were nominated by teachers and counselors, were honored at a May 13 awards banquet at Immanuel Baptist Church. Brittany Sehgal, a 2005 honoree and now a senior at Henry Clay High School, was the featured speaker.
One student from each school was chosen as a grand prize winner and received an MP3 player courtesy of Dell Inc. Congratulations to Jamaal Fields of Bryan Station High School, Kelsee Jackson of Henry Clay High, Mark Hersey of Lafayette High, Nicole Stokley of Paul Laurence Dunbar High and Yusef Mason of Tates Creek High.
