Michael L. Brown and Michael W. Brown of Lafayette High School took first and second place in a chemistry competition at UK.
The university’s student affiliate of the American Chemical Society proctored an entrance exam and competition in late April. Students who passed will get college credit at UK for Chemistry 105/107 and the option to test out of the labs, too.
The students also vied for cash prizes based on their test scores, and the two Lafayette winners outdistanced other top students from public and private schools across the state.
