After placing second for three years in a row, the yearbook staff at Henry Clay High School came away as the overall first-place winner for its 2007 book at the Kentucky High School Journalism Convention in Louisville.“For the staff, it’s like winning the Sweet 16,” said Tommy Craft, the yearbook adviser.
The Henry Clay staff also won first place in cover design, overall design, theme development, graphics, photography, writing and coverage, and second place in advertising.
“Having seen a couple yearbooks from elsewhere in the county and state — there is no comparison to the overall product that Henry Clay puts out,” said science teacher Joe Ratliff. “It’s a great memento and great asset to our school.”
