Governor's Scholars prepare for busy summer
Contact: Lisa Deffendall • First Posted: Tuesday, May 20, 2008
The Governor’s Scholars Program provides academic and personal growth through a balance of strong liberal arts offerings with a full co-curricular and residential life experience on a college campus.
The five-week summer program is designed for outstanding Kentucky students who have completed their junior year in high school. All subjects are taught in a non-traditional, interdisciplinary mode. Noted scientists, writers and thinkers and business, government and education leaders will visit, speak and serve as role models. Student productions, publications, experiments and field trips enhance the curriculum.
The program will run at three sites, June 15-July 19 at Bellarmine University, June 21-July 25 at Morehead State and June 22-July 26 at Centre College. For more details, go to www.kygsp.org/.
