More than 700 Fayette County elementary school students will participate in a free workshop presented by the American Spiritual Ensemble on Tuesday, February 6 at 10 a.m. in Norsworthy Auditorium in the “It’s About Kids” Support Services building located at 701 East Main Street.
The American Spiritual Ensemble tours worldwide performing African-American spirituals. Everett McCorvey, the ensemble’s founder, is a Professor of Voice and Director of Opera at the University of Kentucky.
Students in Kentucky learn about African-American spirituals as a component of the Arts and Humanities curriculum.
