The FCPS Department of Technology has been notified by our Internet service provider that there will be disruptions in our Internet connectivity on the afternoon and evening of Monday, November 13. The following information was received from Damon Jackey, an engineer with Kentucky Educational Technology Support (KETS) today.
?UMBRACO_MACRO>I apologize for the short notice, but KDE has just found out that the Frankfort Plant Board (electric company in Frankfort) will be cutting the power to certain facilities in downtown Frankfort on Monday, November 13th, from 6PM to 9PM Eastern time to perform some work. Included in facilities that will be impacted is the Kentucky Department of Education.
Certain KETS Services will become unavailable starting at 1PM on Monday (November 13th). These include the STIState server and the MAX portal. If users attempt to enroll students using STI during this outage window (1PM to approximately 9PM Monday), they will receive an error code (code E98.... I believe).
Other core KETS Services such as Internet Connectivity, Email, VPN, etc. may experience some level of outage during the 6PM to 9PM Eastern timeframe. These types of services may have intermittent outages, but our hope is that backup power and redundancy will minimize the impact on these core Services.
