Cafeterias receive awards of excellence

Thirty Fayette County school cafeterias recently received the Kentucky School Nutrition Association’s Gold Seal Award of Excellence. The prestigious award is given to schools that excel in planning special events for students and parents and for encouraging parent involvement. Cafeterias also earn points for the number of employees who are active members of the association and for their involvement in fundraising activities.
Schools receiving Gold Seal Awards were: Arlington Elementary, Athens-Chilesburg Elementary, Cardinal Valley Elementary, Cassidy Elementary, Clays Mill Elementary, Dixie Elementary, Garden Springs Elementary, Glendover Elementary, Julia R. Ewan Elementary, James Lane Allen Elementary, Lansdowne Elementary, Linlee Elementary, Rosa Parks Elementary, Russell Cave Elementary, Southern Elementary, Squires Elementary, Stonewall Elementary, Veterans Park Elementary, Beaumont Middle, Crawford Middle, Edythe J. Hayes Middle, Jessie M. Clark Middle, Lexington Traditional Magnet, Southern Middle, Tates Creek Middle, Bryan Station High, Henry Clay High, Lafayette High, Paul Laurence Dunbar High and Tates Creek High.
