FCPS congratulates Class of 2010

Members of the Class of 2010 have marked a milestone in their young lives, moving on from the familiarity of high school toward untold possibilities in their future.
Fayette County Public Schools has launched more than 2,100 graduates out into the world. Take a look at scenes from the five commencements at Rupp Arena:
“As I look at your faces, I see the hopes and dreams of the future.” – Nealy Williams, Faculty Cup recipient
“You have the tools to make this world a better place.” – Lucia Arthur-Paratley, class valedictorian
“Life is our blank canvas, and I can’t wait to see what some of you accomplish.” – Amber Rose, class salutatorian
“You must remember to follow your own path and your dreams.” – Abdullah Ahmad, valedictorian
“Don’t be that person sitting on the couch, complaining about how the world is, when you’re doing nothing to change it.” – Sarah Atkins, class valedictorian
“Our lives are like a story. … Who we are lies in the character arc – the change.” – Suzanne Burton, salutatorian (non-Academy seniors)
“This is a once-in-a-lifetime moment. Don’t let go of the memories.” – Quantrell Gay-Richards, class co-president
“No one but yourself can get you where you want to go.” – Rhea Starns, class co-president

“Our movie’s finished and all we have are these closing credits. … But there will be plenty more to come – our own opportunity to be bigger and better.” – Stefani Cleaver, class vice president
On the air: Cable Channel 13 will broadcast each commencement ceremony three times during June.
