Three New Elementary schools for Fayette County

Artist's rendering of the entry plaza of William Wells Brown Elementary SchoolFayette County is opening three new elementary schools in the fall of 2008! Read about the groundbreaking ceremonies for Liberty, Sandersville and William Wells Brown Elementary.

Construction is underway on three new elementary schools — one on the former Bluegrass-Aspendale property, one on Liberty Road, and one near Masterson station.

William Wells Brown Elementary

William Wells Brown Elementary (the Bluegrass-Aspendale area school) will be a community school in partnership with the Lexington Fayette-Urban County Government, to replace Johnson Elementary School and the now closed Russell Elementary School.
