How do I navigate this website?
In the summer of 2008, we redesigned Fayette County Public Schools' website to incorporate new technologies and provide a cleaner and simpler look and feel.
Search the site:
You can find particular resources by using the search box on the home page (top right). Simply type in a key word or name and hit the "search" button. You can then narrow your search to Web pages, the staff directory or PDF files.
The home page:
Front & center
At the top of the page, click on the menu bar tabs under the row of photographs to find general information, district department listings and details on all our schools, among other resources.
Under latest news, read press releases about our district, our schools and our students.
In the features section, we post articles and photographs that spotlight interesting people, unusual programs and outstanding efforts across the district.
The Staff Spotlight highlights different educators every month during the school year. The view changes every time the page is refreshed.
Left rail
The "Stay connected" box features links to the superintendent's newsletter, our social network pages and RSS feeds.
We created the "How do I ..." section to address people's most commonly asked questions.
You can send us your feedback using an automated form to share input and request a reply.
Right rail
The Did You Know? box offers tips to help your child get the most out of school. The items rotate with each page refresh.
The automated Next up and On Channel 13 sections display a handful of coming events and programs, with links underneath to fuller calendars and TV listings, including video on demand.
FCPS calendars:
We offer a full-featured online calendar of districtwide meetings and school-related events, though it is not an exhaustive list. From the home page, click online listings at the bottom of the green box in the right rail. Tools allow you to search the listings by date range and by category, such as "arts" or "school board." You also can set up email reminders of things you don't want to miss!
You can also click on FCPS calendars to access PDF versions of the instructional calendars.
