FCPS grant proposal development and submission guidelines
All proposals must be approved before they are submitted. Only the FCPS
Superintendent can sign the application. Please follow the FCPS grant
development and submission guidelines.
- The grant writer can provide consultation and technical assistance for
people developing proposals and for people hunting sources of funding for
projects
- The person or team wanting to develop and submit a proposal for funding
will notify the Grant Office by forwarding the completed Intent to Apply
form and the RFP or funding guidelines.
- The grant writer will submit the Intent to Apply form to other Central
Office members of the review team as appropriate (area director, legal,
budget services, and the superintendent). The grant writer will notify the
person or team whether to proceed or not with the project.
- After the Intent to Apply is approved, the person or team must submit the
Proposal Approval Form with the finished proposal including budget and grant
application guidelines to the grant writer at least five working days prior
to the grant application deadline. Technical assistance will be available
from the grant writer. (If the proposal is a school-based project, the
principal and the Site-Based Council should be included in the proposal
development process.)
- After routing the proposal through the Support Services review team,
applying and securing the Superintendent's signature on the proposal, the
grant writer will notify the initiating person or team to submit the grant
application to the funding source.
- The person or team initiating the grant application will submit the grant
application and correct number of copies to the funding source.
- Once the grant has been approved for funding (YEAH!), the person or team
initiating the grant application must notify the grant writer by forwarding
a copy of the award letter, the proposal, and a copy of the budget including
line item MUNIS codes. (The grant writer can help develop the budget and
MUNIS codes)
- Once received, the grant writer will forward the award letter and copy of
the budget to the Budget Office and Grant Accounting Office so that the
account can be established and activated.
- If the proposal is not funded, send a copy of the official notification
along with any reviewer's comments to the grant writer.
