Carter G. Woodson Academy
The Carter G. Woodson Academy will provide an advanced and rigorous curriculum that meets the new common core standards through the lens of African-American history, culture and culturally responsive teaching and learning strategies.

Opening in the fall of 2012, this traditional college preparatory program will serve at-promise males in grades 6-9 who have unlimited potential. In subsequent years, one grade will be added at the high school level annually. All participants will graduate ready for college or a career.

Application process
- Applications are available at all elementary and middle schools. A completed packet will include a student section, a parent section, a counselor recommendation, and one additional recommendation from an adult of your choosing.
