International Baccalaureate at Tates Creek High

The International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme at Tates Creek High School develops inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who foster intercultural understanding and respect.

To maximize their success, IB students should strive:

  • To be inquirers, knowledgeable, thinkers, communicators, principled, open-minded, caring, risk-takers, balanced and reflective learners.
  • To have a strong work ethic.
  • To have a strong academic background.

Based on the inquiry method, the IB teaches students to think, process and apply information in a meaningful way. It is considered one of the best liberal arts pre-college curriculums in the world. In addition to the academic requirements, the program includes the Theory of Knowledge class; Creativity, Action and Service; and the Extended Essay, a research-based project.
