Gifted & Talented Office
G&T services
Fayette County Public Schools provides services for exceptional children in:
- General intellectual ability
- Specific academic aptitude (language arts, math, science, social studies, and total/partial battery)
- Creativity
- Leadership
- Visual / performing arts (drama, dance, music, visual arts)
The gifted and talented selection process requires informal documentation and standardized assessments as appropriate. Children in grades K-3 are informally selected for the primary talent pool. Students in grades 4-12 are formally identified for G&T services.
Specialized programs
In addition to services provided at students' home schools, FCPS offers several specialized G&T programs throughout the district.

Magnet schools
Students accepted to magnet schools can study in the specialty program of their choice, such as Spanish immersion.
