Enrolling in the Fayette County Public SchoolsInformation on this page is maintained by the Office of Pupil Personnel Gary Wiseman, Director of Pupil Personnel (DPP) Street assignments can now be located online. General questions or comments should be directed to Gary Wiseman. Welcome to Kindergarten! We’re so excited that you have chosen to enroll your child in kindergarten in the Fayette County Public Schools. Any child who lives in Fayette County and turns 5 on or before Oct. 1 is eligible for full-day kindergarten in the Fayette County Public Schools. State law requires children to attend school if they will turn 6 on or before Oct. 1. To enroll a child in a Fayette County Public School, families should go to the school their neighborhood is assigned to and fill out a registration packet. To find out what school your neighborhood is assigned to use our online street directory or call (859) 381-4315. Registration for students entering the Fayette County Public Schools for the first time is open from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. during the following enrollment windows:

After each registration window closes, letters will be mailed either confirming a student’s enrollment in the neighborhood school or advising families that the school is full and explaining their options. When school begins, we will also need you to provide the following items. If you have them already, you may bring them when you register:
If you are interested in enrolling your child at a school other than his or her assigned school, visit the Out of area page or call (859) 381-4122. It is still recommended that you register at your neighborhood school. The magnet school application process for the 2008-2009 school year is closed. If you don’t feel comfortable speaking English please call (859) 381-4179 and we will arrange for an interpreter to go with you to register. Questions?
