MINUTES OF COUNCIL MEETING
SEPTEMBER 18, 2000

MEMBERS PRESENT: Bonnie Kelley, Secretarial/Clerical; Mike Baker, Operations; Judi Hale, Food Service, Doug Botkin, Maintenance; and Murlyn Toombs, Law Enforcement

ALTERNATES PRESENT: Roger Mullins, Maintenance

ADMINISTRATORS PRESENT: Dr. Robin Fankhauser, Superintendent, Doug Marshall, Budget Services and Wayne Young, Physical Support Services

ADMINISTRATORS/SUPERVISORS PRESENT: Elizabeth Simpson and Diana Shoop, Human Resources

OLD BUSINESS:

Murlyn Toombs, Law Enforcement, referenced previous concerns about the procedure of someone in the department being appointed versus having new position being made available for all in the department. Dr. Fankhauser read a response supplied by John Toye. Murlyn still felt that everyone in the department should be afforded the same opportunity for advancement. Dr. Fankhauser will refer to Mr. Toye to inform all staff when training will occur, for the purpose of increasing knowledge and the possibility of advancement within the department.

Judi Hale asked for update on food service applicants being made available on job site. Elizabeth Simpson said she will send applications to various job sites.

It was explained that the satellite truck drivers job questioned last month was incorrectly quoted as being a "Grade 15" when it was really a "Grade 13".

NEW BUSINESS:

Guidelines for the Classified Council were discussed and updated. These will be made available at the October Classified Council Meeting in final draft form for approval.

The next Classified Council meeting will be Monday, October 16, 2000 at 5 p.m.
