Out-of-area requests
Fayette County students may request the opportunity to attend a school other than the primary one serving their neighborhood. The specifically allowable reasons are limited and are noted on the application.
Students will only be approved to attend schools that have space available. In most cases, this means the school must be under 90 percent of its enrollment capacity.
All students approved for out-of-area placements must provide their own transportation and must maintain good attendance. While in most cases placements will be continued year to year, an annual review of student attendance, behavior and academic progress might lead to revocation.
Our district strives to provide a world-class education to our students, and we pride ourselves in doing what is best for all kids. We understand that certain issues might require your family to file an out-of-area request or a request to send your child to a school other than your districted school. To avoid crowding, applications can only be approved to attend schools that have space available.
Thank you for the privilege of serving your family.
