Enrollment in Fayette County Public Schools
2015-2016 on the horizon
As of Aug. 1, 2015, Kentucky law requires children between 6 and 18 years old to attend school. Any child who turns 5 on or before Oct. 1 can enroll in full-day kindergarten.
The first registration window runs Feb. 3-26 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. weekdays, plus 5 to 7 p.m. Feb. 4. The second window is April 7-30, plus 5 to 7 p.m. April 8. Registration continues on these summer Tuesdays for grades K-5: June 2, July 7, 14, 21 and 28. The final window, for grades K-12, is 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. weekdays Aug. 3 through Aug. 12, the first day of school.
Also, families may sign up for the district's preschool program if their child turns 4 on or before Aug. 1 and is income-eligible. Three- and 4-year-olds who have a special need may also attend preschool.
