Instructions for Classified Applications

Thank you for your interest in Fayette County Public Schools. We want the application process to be a positive experience for you. Please take a few moments to review these instructions before starting your application.

Be sure to allow sufficient time to complete the application process, usually between 30 and 40 minutes. You will be asked for the following specific information to complete the application. Have the information available for your reference:

  • College/Universities attended, Graduation Dates, Degrees Earned and Major
  • To and From dates for prior and current employer(s), Organization, Supervisor's name and contact phone number for previous employers.
  • Reference Information (minimum of three professional) to include: Name, Complete Address, Phone Number
  • Release of Records Request to include driver's license number and state of issuance
  • Information regarding to any special licenses or certifications that you may hold.

When you have completed a page, click on the CONTINUE button at the bottom of the page to save your information and move to the next page. Should you need to stop your application process, the information you have entered onto all completed pages may be retrieved within 48 hours. You may do this by re-entering the application system with your proper ID and password. Incomplete applications are deleted after 48 hours.

We recommend that you print your application by clicking on Review & Print on the side menu.

You will receive two e-mails from FCPS. The first will arrive after you input and verify your e-mail address. The second e-mail will follow your completed application. This will confirm that Human Resources has received your application.

If you are applying for a Support Services position that requires a resume or other documents, be sure to also mail those documents to the appropriate person as related in the position advertisement.

All secretary/clerical applicants are required to take a Microsoft Excel and Word skills test. The test is given daily in the Application Center, room 101 of the Ambrose Building. Applicants applying for a position that requires bookkeeping are required to successfully complete a bookkeeping assessment.
