Family and Community Involvement
More than 30 years of research has established that family and community involvement in students' learning helps boost their achievement and close achievement gaps. Fayette County Public Schools recognizes this essential partnership in educating our children and has a district policy and a liaison to support the district's Family and Community Involvement Plan.
"The Missing Piece of the Proficiency Puzzle," a report to the Kentucky Department of Education by the Commissioner’s Parent Advisory Council, makes recommendations for involving families and communities to help improve student achievement. The report includes six measurable objectives for schools. FCPS is piloting this work by incorporating these objectives in our district and school improvement plans.
