Partners for Education

Join host Marsha Strein as she spotlights the many and varied partnerships our schools have with parents, community groups, faith-based organizations, businesses, colleges and universities – all of which meet our 2020 recommendation as High Performance Partnerships. This means they support student achievement and connect to our school-improvement plans. Family and Community Involvement is a wonderful resource for Fayette County Public Schools.

Kids Say The Funniest Things

Have you even eaten a 50-pound turkey for Thanksgiving? Probably not. But if you’ve ever talked with children long enough, you know they can say some of most unexpected things. Join the fun with Superintendent Stu Silberman each month as talks with kindergarten and first-grade students across the district.

• Air time: Sunday at 7 p.m., Monday at 5:30 p.m., Wednesday at 7 p.m., Friday at 7 p.m.  

JA Today

This show highlights the teachers, volunteers and students who participate in the Junior Achievement (JA) program in our schools. We visit a different school and grade level each month asking why teachers bring JA into their classroom and what the students have learned through the experience with JA and their business volunteers. In addition, each show includes a Hall of Fame moment, in which a student interviews a member of our Bluegrass Business Hall of Fame.

• Air time: Sunday at 5:30 p.m., Monday at 5 p.m., Wednesday at 6:30 p.m., Friday at 6 p.m.  

Character Matters 

This program promotes a Character Quality of the Month by highlighting a person of character from our community, a FCPS student and a staff member; it also references informative resources about the character quality. This program has great content, exemplary guests and a fantastic way of praising people for doing the right thing. Watch and see why character matters!

• Air time (monthly): Tuesday at 9 p.m., Thursday at 6:30 p.m., Friday at 5:30 p.m., Saturday at 10 p.m.  

Parents in Action 

This program provides viewers with invaluable information on programs, issues and topics of interest pertaining to the Fayette County Public Schools system. New shows are produced every two weeks.

• Air time (monthly): Sunday at 6:30 p.m., Friday at 7:30 p.m., Saturday at 11 a.m., Saturday at 6 p.m. 

In the Know

School board meetings 

We provide live coverage of regularly scheduled action meetings.

• Air time: Televised regularly scheduled board action meetings start at 6 p.m. on the fourth Monday of every month. Meetings are rebroadcast on Tuesday at 2 p.m., Wednesday at 8 p.m. and Saturday at 2 p.m.  

Equity Council meetings 

We provide live coverage of all Equity Council meetings.

• Air time: The group generally meets the first Tuesday of every month beginning at 6 p.m. Coverage ends at 7:30 p.m.
