District financial informationCurrent year budget information may be found on the home page of the office of Budget and Staffing Services. Other financial data may be found in Financial Services. Resolution of school level issuesParents and guardians are encouraged to contact their child’s teacher if there is an issue or problem that needs attention. If this process does not resolve the concern, a contact should be made with the child’s principal. If the issue/concern is still unresolved after contacting the principal, parents and guardians may call the school director assigned to their child’s school to assist with resolution. Information on contacting your child's teacher, principal, and school director may be found on our feedback page. Inclement weatherInclement weather in the Fayette County area may result in school officials closing schools for a day or dismissing classes early. In the event inclement weather necessitates the closing of school for the entire day, school officials make every effort to make a decision by 5:00 AM. Such decisions are announced on the district’s Education Channel 13, on this Web site, and by the local media servicing the Fayette County area. Here's more detailed information about how we make the call. School safetyThe safety of our students and staff is a primary concern to the district. All schools have in place cameras to monitor individuals entering schools. A buzzer system also is used to allow access only to authorized visitors after the beginning of each school day. No Tolerance Policy -- Any student in possession of a deadly weapon, as defined in Section V. of the Student Code of Conduct, (Declaración de Derechos y Responsabilidades) shall be suspended from school. The principal shall report the incident to the Board of Education for an expulsion hearing. The principal shall file a complaint/offense report with the Division of Law Enforcement for each such incident. Incidents concerning students with disabilities are determined on a case-by-case basis, as required by law. Crime Stoppers in Schools is a program of Bluegrass Crime Stoppers. Anyone having information about criminal activity or threats in and around a school may call anonymously to make a report. They only want the information, not your name. Call 253-2020. More information is available at the web site of Bluegrass Crime Stoppers. More information on school safety in Kentucky is available at the Kentucky Center for School Safety.
