Our department aims to promote the full participation and inclusion of limited English proficient (LEP) students in the general education curriculum, ensure their academic success on par with native speakers and enable LEP students to make succesful transitions to post-secondary opportunities.
Did you know?
More than 3,000 students across the school district speak another primary language, with Spanish by far the predominant one. Among the world languages represented here are Albanian, Arabic, Armenian, Cambodian, Chinese, Croation, Farsi, French/Creole, German, Gujarati, Haitian Creole, Hindi, Japanese, Korean, Lingala, Punjabi, Filipino, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Spanish, Swahili, Telugu and Vietnamese.
Help Wanted: The ESL office needs interpreters and translators.
